- Stay busy. Don’t allow the embryo adoption process to take over your life. Keep up with your hobbies, community involvement, and connections with friends. It will make the waiting seem to go by much faster if you aren’t sitting at home thinking about it.
- Practice positive self-talk. Don’t let thoughts like “If I haven’t heard by now it must be bad news” or “This is never going to happen” pop into your mind. If they do, correct yourself with a positive statement, then move on. Give yourself a pep talk and then distract your mind.
- Pamper yourself. If you can, get a massage or even go for an acupuncture treatment. These treatments not only reduce stress, they can even help prepare your body for a healthy pregnancy. That’s two great benefits in one!
